How to pair the Urosensor with an alarm base
When you purchase a new Urosensor, you will need to pair it with your existing Eclipse alarm base. If you purchase a replacement or additional alarm base, that base must also be paired with the existing Urosensor.
Pairing steps
- Switch on the alarm base. Using a thin probe, such as the end of a paper clip or very small screwdriver, press the pairing button marked Z.
- The alarm base will begin to beep slowly at approximately one-second intervals while it “listens” for the Urosensor.
- Immediately activate the Urosensor by placing something metal across the sensing strips so that it sends a signal to the alarm base.
- When the alarm base detects the new Urosensor, it will beep rapidly five times. This confirms that the Urosensor is paired with the alarm base.
If pairing is unsuccessful: The alarm will continue to beep slowly for approximately 75 seconds and then sound one long beep. Repeat the pairing process from the beginning.
Important pairing information
Only one Urosensor can be used at a time with one alarm base. A single alarm base cannot detect multiple sensors. Whichever Urosensor was paired most recently is the one that will trigger that alarm.
However, multiple alarm bases can be paired with one Urosensor, which can be useful when an additional alarm is required elsewhere in the home.
Troubleshooting pairing
Check the alarm-base battery
The Eclipse alarm base uses a CR2354 coin battery, which is available online or from suitable jewellery, photographic or electronics stores.
With the alarm triggering up to twice each night and being switched off when not in use, the battery will generally last around three months.
Check for damage
If the battery is not the issue, gently check the alarm base for damage. If something inside rattles or rolls around when the alarm is shaken, this can indicate loose internal components caused by damage. In that situation, the alarm base will need to be replaced.
